Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the Schmalkalden University website published at www.karrieremesse-schmalkalden.de.

As a public body, we strive to make our websites and mobile applications accessible. The accessibility requirements arise from the Thuringian Act on Accessible Access to Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Bodies (ThürBarrWebG), the Thuringian Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (ThürBITVO), and the Ordinance on the Creation of Barrier-Free Information Technology pursuant to the Equal Opportunities for People with Disabilities Act.

Status of compliance with the requirements

The verification of compliance with the requirements is based on a self-assessment carried out between October 10, 2023, and October 24, 2025, using, among other things, the following assessment tools:

  • W3C Markup Validation Service
  • leserlich.info - Contrast calculator

Based on the review, the website is only partially compliant with the requirements.

The website is already designed to be easily accessible for all users in many areas. However, the website is not yet fully BITV-compliant. These requirements will be taken into account as part of a technical overhaul of the website.

Remaining deficiencies and optimizations

There are still content and technical deficiencies that need to be addressed in the near future. This applies to PDF documents that are currently not accessible. The document names used are also only partially self-explanatory. Existing documents are now being systematically revised. Newly uploaded files and documents will now be created in an accessible format.

Die Website www.karrieremesse-schmalkalden.de enthält derzeit keine Angebote in Gebärdensprache, mit Audiodeskription. Diese Angebote befinden sich derzeit in Erstellung und werden zeitnah in die Website eingefügt.

The website www.karrieremesse-schmalkalden.de does not currently contain any sign language offerings with audio description. These offerings are currently being developed and will be added to the website shortly.

We strive for easy-to-understand language, but this is not always possible due to the technical nature of the texts. Abbreviations are avoided wherever possible or spelled out when they first appear in the text, and then used as abbreviations later in the text.

To date, no BITV test of the content has been carried out by third parties.
